The Gourds with Last Train Home
Last night was full of Tecate and Tequila...it is a wonder if I remember anything....the greasy tunes of Kevin and Jimmy of the Gourds still wander through my ear drums like some distant memory of times gone by. Last Train Home opened for The Gourds last night. They were a good band. Somehow my memory does not serve me well on them but I remember dancing to their music. The Gourds played all my favorites...it was amazing...I even got Shake the Chandelier dedicated to me by Kevin....Bart was announced for the Gourd Award...whatever that was...all in all a sparkly, smoky, shimmery night...full of liquor and nicotine... You may ask if I made it through the night without smoking...well I say HELL NO!! I knew better before we even arrived at the Continental Club....Stopped at the quickie mart and got a pack of the old Marlboro Menthol Lights...it is ok though...somehow the whole entire pack disappeared last night...whether I smoked all of them or lost them it doesn't matter...what I do know is that after weeks of not smoking and drinking to go all out like I did last night just serves as a shining reminder of why I don't drink and smoke...so if I learned a lesson in there somewhere it was all worth it...it is strange how after weeks of not drinking my tolerance for alcohol is still there....after like 9 beers and 4 shots of Jose Cuervo I still managed to remember the "Ride" home...ha ha if you get that.. All in all it was a wonderful night..I am awake now at 8am drinking mountain dew code red...gonna take an energy pill shortly and make some good grub for breakfast and shake off the remainder of this alcohol slag... .....it is Sunday...for that I am grateful and thankful...The kids will go back to school in the morning.....and I will get back to my Pilates and cleaning regimen...the weekends are like a bus stop in the sanity of my life..wonder what the summer will be like for me when there are no more school days to gve me my sanity...will worry about those times when they come... Gonna go get me some Gourdlike Religion...maybe "Jesus Christ With Signs Following" or "Hallelujah Shine" either way it will be glorious and "sing along worthy" Anyways...will post more when my memory serves me better...
